Human Dimensions
The majority of giraffes in this region occurs within communally owned land without any formal protection. As such the survival of these species may depend on the local’s perception towards conservation of giraffe. if giraffes are to persist within human-dominated landscapes, it is prudent to increase human tolerance towards their conservation.
We are currently looking into the local community perception to untangle socio-cultural behavior that surrounds the conservation of the endangered reticulated giraffes.
