Community Education and Awareness program

Local communities are key stakeholders in the conservation of the endangered reticulated giraffe.

Through this program, we create awareness, build local ownership, and local capacity for giraffe conservation. Through a mix of community outreach channels, including campaign platforms during the World Giraffe Day celebrations, seminars, workshops, and engagement through local media like radio—we share practical conservation knowledge and promote coexistence.

Each year, the program reaches over 5,000 community members, including pastoralists and youth, creating broad-based support for giraffe conservation and strengthening community-led stewardship across the landscape.
