Community Education and Awareness program
The community is an essential pillar to the conservation of the endangered reticulated giraffe. Therefore, we strive to engage the community through different programs aimed at increase conservation awareness and building the local capacity.
We have tailored our program to include school visits, public rallies to celebrate world giraffe day, seminars, workshops and to use local media such as radio. Through this program, we target reaching out to over 2000 pastoralists while nurturing and mentoring the next generation of conservationists through our education program where we work with local schools.
In the long run, we plan to work with over 30 local schools and reaching over 6,000 school children to impact conservation knowledge through school visits, wildlife cinemas, practical field activities and conservation career opportunities mentorship.
